What is your Hard Disk's RPM Speed ?

Know your Hard Disk RPM Speed by following the method given below.

There are 4200 RPM, 5200 RPM and 7200 RPM in Hard disk. The 4200 RPM and 5200 RPM are used in the old Computers and 7200 RPM is used in the latest computers.

What is RPM?
RPM stands for Revolutions per Minute.  That is in how many times per minute around the clock, the Hard Disk rotates
5200 RPM means 5200 revolutions per minute.
7200 RPM means 7200 revolutions per minute.

Likewise in 7200 RPM Hard Disk, when transferring Data, the revolution takes place 15000 times.
(That is when transferring data the revolution times is twice)

Now, how to identify whether your Hard disk’s revolution 5200 RPM or 7200 RPM?

This can be found by your Hard disk model number. To know your Hard disk model number,
Right Click on My Computer,
then Click Properties,
Then Click on Device Manager,
In Device Manager, click Expand the Disk Drive
And Hard Disk model number will be clearly shown.

Are you wondering how to find the RPM using the Hard Disk model number?  Then here we go!!!

This is my Hard Disk number - WD3200AAKS

In this
WD - Hard Disk brand
320 - Hard Disk Capacity
0AAKS - according to the brand WD, it is 16 MB Cache.

Instead of this,

0AVVS- if it is like this, then it means 8 MB Cache power.

In WD Hard Disk List, this model number represents (WD3200AAKS) 7200 RPM speed.

Therefore by using your model number, we can find the RPM speed in Google Search.
